About those New Year resolutions…

Hey there, Happy New Year!

I hope you had a wonderful time during the holiday season!

I spent the last few days relaxing with my dogs, watching our favorite movies, and getting the house back in order after all the celebrations. It’s been so nice to hit the reset button before the new year!

Now that the holidays are behind us, you’re probably starting to think about your goals for the year ahead.

But before setting New Year’s resolutions, let’s step back.

How did your resolutions go last year? Or the year before that?

If you’re like most people, setting a goal just because it’s January 1st often doesn’t lead to long-term success.

Not because resolutions are “bad,” but because if you genuinely want to build the balance and energy you’ve been craving or feel confident, aligned, and in control of your life, it takes more than just writing it down.

It’s about making your goals meaningful, intentional, and specific to align with the life you want to create.

So BEFORE you saddle yourself with a big list of goals…

Ask yourself these three questions:

  1. What HABITS would make the most significant positive impact on my daily life? We tend to overestimate how much we need to do to reach our goals. Instead, think about which habits will give you the most significant return!
  2. What’s held me back from taking action in the past? This isn’t to beat yourself up — it’s to get ahead of challenges before they pop up. If something keeps getting in your way, NOW is your chance to acknowledge it and plan to tackle it!
  3. How does this goal align with my core values? When your goals reflect what’s truly important to you, you’re MUCH more likely to stick with them. For example, if family is a core value, frame your health goals around being there for the people you care about.

If you can answer these questions, you’ll end up with resolutions you’re excited about.

Not just right now…

But even in a month, two months, or even six months from now… long after almost everyone else has given up.

So, take some time to reflect on these.

If you can, write down your answers and refine your resolutions.

Here’s to making 2025 your best year yet!
